Grade Scale
Teachers will issue grades each 9 weeks. Additionally they will provide a mid-term progress report to each student mid-way through each grading period.
The following is the grading scale for Putnam County Schools as mandated by the Florida Legislature:
Letter - Percentage
A - 90
- 100
B - 80 - 89
C - 70 - 79
D - 60 - 69
F - 0 - 59
GPA & Honor Graduate Levels
Unweighted GPA: Per credit - A=4, B=3, C=2, D=1, F=0.
Weighted GPA: Per credit -
A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2, F=0.
The weighted GPA reflects an additional point awarded for certain courses. PHS students enrolled in the following classes will receive one additional quality point for calculation of their weight GPA. All honors classes and advanced placement classes, SJRCC dual enrollment classes, Latin I & II, Chemistry II, PreCalculus, and ROTC III & IV. Honor Graduate status is based on a Weighted GPA of 3.5 or better.
