Reading Counts at PHS
Reading Counts is one of several school-wide reading programs at PHS. The goal of our reading program is to encourage students to read enjoyable, quality literature. All students are to read two novels each nine weeks (this is actually 10% of every student’s English grade). Click here for a list of Reading Counts quizzes available.
Reading Counts Reward Events
Students who read the most books during every nine weeks will earn a reward. Events are planned throughout the school year.

There are a number of juniors and seniors who have already taken the ACT and made a score of 15 or greater. Students who have not passed the FCAT but did make a score of 15 or greater on the ACT must take the FCAT a minimum of 3 times beginning with the initial Spring 10th grade FCAT test in order for the ACT score to count.
It is very important that every student who is scheduled to be tested be present and on time for the test. It is also important that they be prepared for the test.
